I will identify any major problems with the story (anything from character development, plot arc, story structure, and so on) and offer suggestions in a sidebar throughout the manuscript.

This service includes two 60-minute video calls:

The first video call is to go through notes and manuscript together (to be scheduled once editor has completed the work).

The second video call is to brainstorm ways to push the writing/story (to be scheduled once the author has had a chance to review editor’s work).

This service is for completed manuscripts as proofreading is the final stage before submission. This service includes a full check of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to chosen style guide as well as general check for overall coherence within the manuscript (example: verb-tense shifting, voice hopping, and so on).

As with standard proofreading, this service includes manuscript edits and a detailed

explanation on the first correction of a problem to identify the error made and the grammatical rule involved.

This service includes standard line editing, which includes identifying inconsistencies in your characters and plot), polishing the overall writing (style, tone, and voice), and finessing the writing on a line-level (figurative language, syntax, sentence structure).

This service also includes proofreading (correcting spelling, grammar, word choice, and punctuation). I will point out any ambiguity in a review panel along with recommendations.

For projects that are complete or partially complete, I will read 30 pages of the manuscript, after which I will conduct a qualitative interview with the client (90-minutes) to harvest all pertinent/missing information needed.

Then, I will write the marketing proposal which includes author bio, book summary (or query letter), target audience, market plan, and market analysis.

My standard fee is $800 for this service, however price may vary upon evaluation of work.

For projects without research and manuscript idea ready

The work will be done in 2 phases:

Phase 1

I’ll conduct a pre-established set of qualitative interviews with the client to extract knowledge, methodology, big story arc, and main idea.

($100/hour – approx. 30-40 hours)

Phase 2

I’ll draft an in-depth outline with a chart mapping the main plot points and character growth (arc & scenes).

We’ll meet via a video chat (up to 60 minutes) to revise and reach agreement on the outline.

I’ll work on 1–2 chapters (vary per project), and we’ll confer via a second video chat (up to 60 minutes) to ensure the writing style (voice and tone), and content match the author’s wishes.

Next, we’ll agree on a timeline complete with detailed schedule of word count due and checkpoints (meetings). 

$0.395 per word of ghostwritten content, half due in advance, based on target word count (based on approx. 80,000-word project)

For projects with research and manuscript idea ready

Client brief: a high-level brief where client/author will describe the project (1-2 meetings of 60 minutes each)

We will then proceed to follow phase 2 as outlined above.

*due to the nature of this work, the selection process is rigorous. I only take on one client per year.
